College and Technical School Information

Minimum High School Requirements

  • Minimum required scores HOPE GPA – 2.6 after the completion of 10th grade
  • An unofficial or official high school transcript must be uploaded that includes a grade level higher than a 10 and states HOPE GPA/Final GPA to be processed.
  • If you have not taken the SAT and/or ACT, or your scores do not meet the minimum requirements for Dual Enrollment eligibility listed below, then you must take the ACCUPLACER test.

SAT, ACT, and/or PSAT Scores

  • Minimum required scores for New SAT – 25 Reading Test 26 Writing 24 Math Test
  • Minimum required scores for ACT – 19 Reading 19 English and 19 Math
  • Minimum required scores for PSAT – 23 Reading 24 Writing and Language Arts 22 Math

Next-Generation ACCUPLACER Scores

  • Minimum required scores for Next-Generation ACCUPLACER: 236 Reading, 249 Writing, 229 Arithmetic, 245 Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra, and Statistics

DE Application Deadlines

  • Spring Semester 2020 (January – May 2020): November 15, 2019
  • Summer Semester 2020 (June – August 2020): March 1, 2020
  • Fall Semester 2020 (August – December 2020): April 1, 2020

Minimum High School Requirements

  • 3.0 grade point average in Required High School Curriculum coursework
  • Successful completion of the 9th grade
  • Must be on-track toward the completion of the USG Required High School Curriculum (RHSC) and high school graduation requirements.

SAT & ACT Minimum Requirements

  • ACT: Minimum composite score of 20, 19 English and 21 Math *Dalton also offers the R-ACT, which is only used for acceptable to Dalton State. You must apply to Dalton State before you can take the R-ACT.
  • New SAT: Minimum score of 25 Reading and 530 Math with a combined Critical Reading + Math equivalent of 970 or higher on the OLD SAT. See Mrs. Stover for more information on converting scores or follow this link.

Satisfactory Academic Progress:

  • All students must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) in order to be eligible for Dual Enrollment. SAP will be determined upon acceptance and reviewed at the end of every term. SAP is defined as a minimum cumulative course completion rate of 67% and a minimum GPA of 2.0. Failure to meet SAP in any term will result in removal from the program for any future terms.

DE Application Deadlines

  • Fall Semester - July 1
  • Spring Semester - December 1
  • Summer Semester - May 1

  • Must be entering your junior or senior year of high school at the time of enrollment.
  • Must be on track towards the completion of the USG RHSC requirements and high school graduation.
  • HOPE GPA of 3.25 or higher.

SAT & ACT Minimum Requirements

  • ACT: Minimum scores of 20 English and 18 math with overall composite of 20.
  • New SAT: Minimum score of 26 Reading and 480 Math with a combined Critical Reading + Math equivalent of 970 or higher on the OLD SAT. See Mrs. Stover for more information on converting scores or follow this link.

DE Application Deadlines

  • Spring: October 1
  • Summer: March 15
  • Fall: March 15

  • ACT: Minimum composite of 21
  • SAT: Minimum of 1050 combined math and critical reading score.
  • Without ACT or SAT test scores, you can have a 3.2 GPA. Test scores are required for placement in math courses. ACCUPLACER results may be used in place of SAT/ACT for math placement for DE students only.
